Our Story
Maison Mendi was born from a simple desire: to create elegant, authentic and comfortable slippers shaped with true artisanal savoir-faire. Since my childhood, I have cherished a special attachment to handcrafted slippers like the ones made by my grandmother, pieces that were solid, warm and full of meaning. These memories sparked the idea to reinvent a timeless model, refined and thoughtfully designed.
Each pair is handcrafted on the island of Mallorca, using natural cowhide suede on the exterior and a soft sheepskin lining on the inside, tied with a leather cord that adds a sober and refined finish. This meticulous work is carried out by skilled artisans, who preserve traditional techniques and give each pair a unique character.

The Inspiration Behind the Name
Mendi means “mountain” in Basque, a place where I spent much of my time growing up and which holds cherished memories with my grandparents. They were the ones who gifted me handmade slippers when I was a child—a simple gesture filled with affection and tradition. The name came naturally, in reference to this region that remains deeply meaningful to me.
The materials used in our slippers—sheepskin wool and natural cowhide suede, evoke this world of nature and mountains. They reflect the spirit of Maison Mendi, a brand shaped around comfort, craftsmanship and a sincere attachment to what is genuine and lasting.
